CASPER TestNet Validator Node Stopped being a Validator

My Validator Node stopped being a validating and became a Full Node. The Staking status changed from Active to Rotating.

The team alluded to the fact that since there is a limit of 20 Validators at the moment, your node can lose validating status if it has the LEAST bonded amount.

I increased my bond from 7 $CSPR to 17 $CSPR and Reset the Commission. This should bump me up in the hierarchy of validators.

Just have to wait 1 era to see if it worked :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :flexed_biceps:

This is due to dropping the minimum validator count from 69 down to 20 (temporarily) for testing purposes.

Essentially, 20 validators are selected every Era with the probability based on your CSPR stake. Meaning, any validator can still be selected - it’s just that validators with higher stake have a higher chance of being selected.

This is where nominators come in handy, but that’s a whole other topic.

I just noticed this happened to one of my validators as well. It’s the only one (out of 7) where I initially staked 7 CSPR instead of my usual 10.

Right now it still shows 7.3 CSPR actively staked, so I’m not overly concerned — unless that original 7 CSPR somehow disappears.

I assume this is normal behavior since there are only 20 allowed validators on the network?

Just wanted to mention that I’m seeing the same thing on my end.
